Michael Artinger

Dr. Michael Artinger is Managing Director of the Research Translation Group at UCI Applied Innovation.  RTG serves as a liaison for faculty and staff across all UCI departments and assists in developing strong alliances with industry, ensuring that federal, state, and private investment in UCI research has the greatest possible global impact.

Before joining UCI Applied Innovation, Artinger most recently served as the Vice President for Marketing & Strategic Partnering at ViroCyt, an innovative analytical instrument company acquired by Sartorius in 2016. Artinger’s past operational experience encompasses senior positions in marketing, strategic planning, alliance management, and product development, including serving as Vice President of Commercial Operations at InDevR, Director of Fitzsimons BioBusiness Partners, and President/CEO at Nanodisc.

His expertise includes an in-depth knowledge of company formation, equity, and grant fundraising, as well as mergers and acquisitions. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital and earned a doctorate degree in Biology as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Ecology from UCI.
