Margot Shapiro

Margot Shapiro was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She holds a BS in Applied Earth Science and an MS in Petroleum Geology from Stanford University, and an MBA from Harvard. Margot began her career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs & Co., followed by several years in private equity in New York City. Margot served on the Board of Advisors of the Wolverine Venture Fund at the University of Michigan’s Ross Business School for six years. In 2010 together with two partners, she started LMN Ventures, a small venture capital fund focused on seed investments in Life Science, Education, Clean Tech and Consumer Sectors.
Margot serves on the Board of Women’s Philanthropy of The Jewish Federation and Family Services as Campaign Chair, as well as participating in the JFFS Mentorship Initiative. She also mentors student entrepreneurs at both Chapman University and UCI.
