David Coher

An energy executive leading compliance for the President’s Office of Southern California Edison, David leads teams responsible for ensuring SCE’s compliance with a variety of regulatory matters governing the day-to-day business of an electric utility providing power to approximately 14 million Californians.

David has held a variety of roles with SCE, from his time as an attorney in the Law Department, where he handled litigation and transactional matters, to several leadership roles covering reliability and cybersecurity, commodity market matters, OSHA safety, procurement, and other areas. Throughout, David has sought to break otherwise complicated problems into simple, discrete issues that can be understood and solved without technical abstraction.

In addition, David is a sought-after speaker, serving as a frequent guest speaker on technology, energy, and regulatory matters. He is currently a member of the Advisory Board for the Georgetown Cybersecurity Law Institute, a Planning Commissioner for the City of Pasadena, California, Chair Emeritus of the State Bar of California’s Committee on Group Insurance Programs, and an active alumni leader of Long Beach City College, the University of Southern California, and the Georgetown University Law Center.

David and his family reside in Pasadena, California.
