Halim Jubran, Ph.D.

Halim Jubran is the co-founder and CEO of Phytolon since August 2018.

Dr. Jubran is a biologist with 12 years of experience in research and development in the field of biotechnology in academic and industrial disciplines.

Before establishing Phytolon, Halim was a Project Manager and Senior Scientist in Forrest Innovations, an Israeli-Brazilian startup in the field of biotechnology, for nearly three years. In Forrest Innovations, Halim participated in leading the R&D and the large-scale production that aimed at generating sterile mosquitoes to combat the spread of the Zika virus.

Dr. Jubran holds a Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and afterwards has been a Post-Doctoral fellow at The Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Part of Halim’s doctoral research was conducted at the University of Freiburg in Germany. During the academic period, Halim’s research projects were significantly versatile with respect to the field of research. These fields include plants metabolomics, vaccine development, bioremediation, analysis of natural materials, and more.

In addition, during his academic career, Halim won several prizes and fellowships and was involved in programs of social leadership and in volunteering work for several years.
